Meet Dr Nick
Dr Nick Wilding is a general dentist and co-owner of Terrigal Beach Dental + Implant Centre on the NSW Central Coast. He has been practising in Terrigal since 2013 and has a strong focus on dental implants, restorative and prosthodontic dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and digital dentistry.
Nick graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science (2003) and a Bachelor of Dentistry (2007). He completed a Graduate Diploma in Dental Implants with Honours. His implant training began in 2011 and includes advanced implant surgery and implant site development with Prof Robert London through the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and The London Institute (USA). It also covers ridge preservation after tooth extraction and mini dental implants.
Nick provides single-tooth implants, implant-retained bridges and implant-supported dentures using Straumann and Osstem implant systems. The practice has in-house cone beam CT (CBCT) 3D imaging and a Medit intraoral scanner. Nick combines the two to digitally plan implant treatment and carry out guided implant surgery, allowing precise implant placement and a more comfortable experience for patients. He holds a CBCT radiation licence.
Alongside implant dentistry, Nick has completed further training in porcelain veneers and crowns, full mouth rehabilitation, endodontics (root canal treatment) and managing dental anxiety. He has been a member of the Australian Dental Association for 20 years.
Nick grew up on the Central Coast and attended Central Coast Grammar School, and has a long personal connection to the practice. Terrigal Beach Dental was founded in 1987 by Dr Bill Dibert, who was Nick’s own dentist from the age of 12. Nick joined the practice in 2013, and in 2016 he and Dr Tom Hall took it over. Nick and Tom studied dentistry together at the University of Sydney and have been close friends ever since.
Nick is known for taking the time to explain treatment options clearly, so patients feel comfortable and in control of their care. He lives locally at Avoca Beach with his wife
Shelley, a primary school teacher at a local school, and their family. Nick is a member of Avoca Beach Surf Life Saving Club and is involved with the Avoca Beach Sharks rugby club and Kincumber Netball Club. When he’s not in the surf, you might find him on a surf or ski trip with his longtime friend and business partner, Tom.
